Child Care Payments- Update September 4, 2015

payments

With the adjustments to the system that have had to be done without a FY ‘16 budget, approval of payments will be slightly different.   Currently, DHS can’t use the same funds for home provider payments and center provider payments on the same day. So, days will vary on which type of payments are approved.  Last week, DHS caught up the approval of most center payments.  Late this week DHS is approving home provider payments.  A similar pattern will continue throughout the month.  On 9/3,  DHS approved  SOME payments for home provider that were entered on 9/1.  Tonight, 9/4, it appears DHS will approve MOST of the remaining payments for home providers entered on 9/1, and MANY home provider payments entered on 9/2.  More payments should continue to be approved next week with some days more home provider payments being approved,  and some days center payments will start to be approved for payments entered in late August and early September. DHS always notes most on the approval of payments because some payments get held up for individual technical issues.

Providers can view the approval of their payments the day after the approval occurred at:

    www.dhs.state.il.us

Go to tab:  FOR PROVIDERS

Click on:  Payments

Click on:  Provider Payment Inquiry

Enter:  SS# or FEIN

Click on:  Submit

CVR date is the approved date of the payment

*Payments are generally issued by The Office of the Comptroller 1-3 working days after the approval date.

 Debit Card

It appears some debit card payments are still taking a little longer than usual to get to the card.  Genearlly, payments will be on the card two working days after the payment is issued.  With the new cards, it sometimes take 2 ½ to 3 working days after the issue date to reach the card account.  Providers with card issues, should call the card company at: 866-338-2944.  For callers to speak with a customer service represnative at the card company,  providers do not enter their card number when the message asks for it. When instructed, they should press the # sign.  Then when instructed, press option 4 for lost, stolen, or damaged card.  After entering the social security number and zip code,  a representative should come on the line.
