Child Care Payment Update- January 6th 2015

First- we want to address the rumor that child care providers are not getting paid this month. This is definitely not true. There is a cash flow issue and we are informing providers to be prepared for some delays. As always we are committed to keeping you informed as to the status of the program.

Now for today’s update:

Providers can hear payment information updates on (217) 524-9041.The message on that  number is updated about once a week.

Approved Payments:
Last night, 1/5, it appears DHS approved MOST of the  payments entered on 12/31.  We note MOST on the approval of entered payments because some payments require extra technical work to process the payments, or there might be an issue with the provider information which can cause delays on the approval of the payments. On 1/6, it appears that DHS will have funding to approve a SMALL portion of the payments entered on 1/2.  It is only a small portion of the payments entered that will be approved, NOT all payments entered on 1/2 will be approved.  Some providers that have multiple cases may see one or two of their cases become approved, while other cases for the same provider entered on 1/2 may not be approved on 1/6.  After tonight (1/6), DHS probably won’t  be able to continue approving payments again until the mid-month funding becomes available around 1/15.   Providers can generally hear about entered and approved payments on 800-804-3833 one or two working days after the entry or approval.  Providers can also receive information on approval of  payments by using the following web site to see approval information:
*Go to tab:  FOR PROVIDERS
Enter:  SS# or FEIN
Click on:  Submit
-most recent approved payment will be noted at the top of the page.  The CVR column is the approved date.
Issued Payments
It appears payments approved by DHS on 1/2 should be issued by The Office of the Comptroller tonight 1/6. As payments become approved by DHS, they should be issued by The Office of the Comptroller in 1-3 working days after approval date.
Providers can always see if a payment has been issued by going to The Office of the Comptroller web site of:
*Go to Financial Inquiries (tab at top of the page)
*click on Vendor Payments
* Enter SS# or FEIN (click OK)
*For the next two pages click on Gray Boxes at bottom  (Payments and Find Warrants)
Most recent payment will be listed at top of the page.
