Child Care Payment Update January 22, 2014

January 22, 2014 at 7:14 pm

Recent system issues have been corrected. DHS should start to approve payments tonight Wednesday 1/22. The approvals tonight should start with the remaining payments entered on 1/2 not already approved, and payments entered on 1/3, and MOST entered on 1/6. *We are hopeful that approvals will continue on Thursday night with payments entered on 1/6 not approved on Wednesday, and payments entered on 1/7, 1/8, and maybe 1/9 becoming approved by DHS. *Approval process should be fine to continue approving payments at least throughout next week. **Currently the telephone billing system (IVR), is down along with payment inquiry line of: 800-804-3833. Providers cannot enter payments over the billing line, and many callers are not getting information on entered payments. Staff are working to fix the issues.

Payments Issued at Comptroller Office: **Reminder on the payment process: payment gets entered into the system, when funding is available for the payment, the payment is approved/vouchered. Generally, 1-3 working days after the payment is approved/vouchered it will be issued by The Office of the Comptroller. Providers can follow issued payments at The Office of the Comptroller web site of: http://www.ioc.state.il.us (financial inquiries, vendor payments,). Payments are issued at night, if a provider is paid via paper check it will go in the mail the next working day. If a provider is paid through direct deposit or debit card, it will be in the account two working days after the issue date. (weekends and holidays are not working days ).
